Faceless short form video for SaaS

Turn the posts that already worked into 9:16 videos and 3:4 carousels. Idea batches for one credit, generated backgrounds, voice and captions, no face needed.

By Max Gillespie, founder of Oetzi

A faceless short form video generator for SaaS takes something you already said and turns it into a vertical video nobody has to appear in. Oetzi does this from your own posts. You pick an idea, it renders a 9:16 video or a 3:4 carousel with a generated background, a voice track, and captions, and you approve it before anything goes out.

How do you make short form video from your own posts?

Start with a batch of ideas. Oetzi reads your recent posts and the day's trend research, then proposes up to five video ideas. Each idea comes with a hook, an outline, the source it was drawn from, and a thumbnail. One batch is one credit. Reading it and throwing most of it away is fine, that is the point of a batch.

Pick one and render. The script is written from your voice doc, so it reads the way you write rather than the way a template writes. The background is generated for that post, not pulled from a stock library, so two videos on the same topic do not look like siblings. A voice track and captions are included. Most people watch with sound off, so the captions carry the message on their own.

What does a faceless video look like?

By default there is no face at all. The frame is a generated background, the words on screen, and a voice reading the script. This is the format for a founder who does not want to be on camera and does not have time to set up lighting.

If you do want a person on screen, an on-screen persona is optional. It costs three, four, or six credits depending on the length of the video. Everything else stays the same: your script, your voice doc, your approval.

How much does a short form video cost?

A rendered 9:16 video up to 30 seconds is one credit. A 3:4 carousel, which is a hook slide plus up to four more slides, is also one credit. A video up to 60 seconds is two credits. A failed render costs nothing. Every price sits on the pricing page and in the credits doc, and there is no separate video plan to buy.

Publishing is free. A finished video goes through Postiz to whichever of its 30+ platforms you have connected, the same way a text post does. See the Postiz integration for how that connection works.

Does the posting plan make videos on its own?

No, unless you turn it on. Video in the posting plan is off by default. Text posts are cheap to review and cheap to regenerate, video takes longer to watch back, so it stays a deliberate choice. When you switch it on, the plan drafts video ideas alongside posts and holds them for your approval like everything else.

Why draft video from posts instead of a prompt?

Most video generators start from a blank prompt. You type a topic, they invent a script. The result is fluent and generic, because the model has nothing of yours to work from.

Oetzi starts from what already happened. A post that got replies is evidence the hook works. A question your buyers keep asking is a script waiting to be read aloud. The source travels with every idea so you can see where it came from before you spend a credit rendering it. That is also why the ideas rarely need rewriting: they are your words in a new format, not a stranger's guess at your topic.

Questions

Can I make short form videos without showing my face?

Yes. The default render has no person in it at all. The frame is a generated background, on-screen captions, and a voice track reading a script written from your voice doc. An on-screen persona is optional and costs extra by length. Most founders ship the faceless version because it needs no camera, no lighting, and no retakes.

How many credits does a 9:16 video cost?

A 9:16 video up to 30 seconds is one credit. Up to 60 seconds is two credits. A 3:4 carousel with a hook slide plus up to four slides is one credit. A batch of up to five ideas with hook, outline, source, and thumbnail is one credit. Failed renders are free, and publishing through Postiz is free.

Where do the video ideas come from?

From your own material. Oetzi reads your recent posts and the daily trend research, then proposes ideas that each name their source. You see why an idea was suggested before you render it. That keeps the videos anchored to things you and your buyers actually said instead of a generic take on the topic.

Will Oetzi post videos automatically?

Not unless you ask it to. Video inside the posting plan is off by default, and every render waits for your approval before it is published. When you do turn video on, the plan drafts ideas alongside your posts on the cadence you set, and you still review each one before it goes out through Postiz.
