Postiz integration: drafts for posts you schedule

Oetzi writes the post from what your market said this week and hands it to Postiz to publish. How the two fit together, what it costs, and the ten minute setup.

By Max Gillespie, founder of Oetzi

Postiz is an open source social media scheduler with connections to more than thirty channels. Oetzi is the drafting side: it listens to your market, decides what is worth saying, writes the post in your voice, and hands the finished thing to Postiz to publish. Postiz owns the channel connections and the schedule. Oetzi owns the reason the post exists.

How does the Postiz integration work?

You connect your channels once inside Postiz, which has already cleared each platform's developer review and maintains those connections as the platforms change. Then you connect that Postiz account to Oetzi with one token. From then on, a draft you approve becomes a post in your Postiz organization and goes out on your schedule.

The practical effect is that you never grant thirty separate app permissions. Your channels live in an account you own and can revoke at any time, and Oetzi holds one token that can list channels, upload media, and create posts, nothing else. You can read more at postiz.com, and setup runs about ten minutes, documented step by step in the Postiz setup guide.

What does Oetzi add on top of a scheduler?

A scheduler publishes what you hand it. The hard part was never the publishing. It is knowing what to say on a Tuesday when nothing obvious happened.

  • The draft starts from this week's signal: the conversations that matched your listening signals, the questions buyers asked in public, and the day's trend research.
  • It sounds like you, because it is written from a voice doc built from your own posts and samples with "sounds like me" votes on the drafts.
  • A posting plan sets the cadence per platform and drafts one post per run, so the calendar fills without you staring at it.
  • Short form video, 9:16 renders and 3:4 carousels with voice track and captions, publishes the same way through the channels you connected.
  • Post metrics come back into a scoreboard, so you can see which drafts earned their slot.

One drafting run is one credit and produces one to three variants of one post on one platform. Edits, rewrites, and regenerations are free. Publishing through Postiz is free, and so are post metrics.

Can an agent do this without me in the portal?

Yes, under the same rules. Every capability is available over MCP, a REST API, and a CLI, so Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Cursor can draft and publish for you. Keys carry scopes: read, write, spend, and post. A key without post scope cannot publish, whatever the agent intends, and every paid call returns a quote first and runs only with approved set to true and a max_credits cap. The Claude Code integration covers that route.

Questions

Do I need a Postiz account to use Oetzi?

Only for publishing. Listening, scoring, replies, share of model checks, and drafting all work without one. When you want posts to go out on their own schedule, you connect a Postiz account, since that is where your channel connections live and where you can revoke them.

What can Oetzi do inside my Postiz account?

List your channels, upload media, and create posts. It cannot change your Postiz settings or connect new channels for you. You add channels in Postiz yourself, then untick any channel Oetzi should leave alone. Disconnect at any time from either side.

Can Postiz reply to someone else's post?

No. Publishing and replying are different permissions on every platform, and a reply to a matched conversation needs a direct connection instead. Bluesky is the exception and works today with an app password.

Does publishing cost credits?

No. Publishing is free, and so is auto publishing on a schedule. You pay one credit for the drafting run that wrote the post, and rendered video is priced separately by length. Failed renders are free.

Oetzi is an AI marketer for founders who need users. It finds the threads where people ask for a product like yours on seven platforms, checks whether the AI engines recommend you, and drafts replies, posts, and short video in your voice. You approve everything. 100 credits included, 10 free to try with no card, 50 bonus credits with the first payment.
