Pick ReplyGuy if you want replies to go out without you in the loop and you accept the risk that comes with that. Pick Oetzi if you want every reply drafted in your voice, scored for whether the thread is worth it, and sent only when you approve. This is the clearest split in the category. One tool posts for you. The other never does.

What ReplyGuy does well

ReplyGuy is honest about what it is. It monitors mentions and auto-posts replies, and that mechanic is the whole product. For a founder who has decided that volume matters more than voice, it removes the last human step, which is the step most people skip anyway. It has become the tool every other listening product writes an alternative page against, which is its own kind of proof that people are searching for it. If you want a reply in every thread that mentions your keywords and you are not going to write them yourself, ReplyGuy does that job.

Where the fit differs

Auto-posting versus approval is the whole argument. Oetzi drafts two reply variants in your voice for any conversation and nothing goes out until you approve one. That costs you a click per reply. In return you never wake up to a reply you would not have written, in a thread you would not have joined, under an account that carries your name. On Reddit and Hacker News especially, a pattern of automated replies gets noticed, and the cost of being noticed is the account and the reputation attached to it.

The second difference is upstream of the reply. ReplyGuy monitors mentions. Oetzi scores every match 0 to 100 for buying intent, writes out the reason, and tags who is talking, so the thread you reply to is one where someone is deciding, not one that merely contains your keyword. The third difference is voice. Oetzi builds a voice doc from your own posts and samples, with "sounds like me" votes that tune it over time, and reruns are free. ReplyGuy does not publish a voice model we can cite.

Does Oetzi auto-post replies?

No. Oetzi drafts two reply variants in your voice and waits for approval. That rule holds on every platform and every plan and cannot be switched off. Scheduled posts have an autopilot option that is off by default, but replies to other people's threads always go through you.

Why do so many tools write alternative pages against ReplyGuy?

Because it defined the auto-reply search and other tools want that traffic. Redreach, for instance, publishes an alternative page against it. Is an automated reply actually risky?

It depends on the platform. Reddit and Hacker News communities remove marketing replies quickly and remember accounts that post them. X and LinkedIn tolerate more. The risk is not the single reply but the pattern, and a tool that posts on every mention creates a pattern fast. Approval breaks that pattern at the cost of a click.
