Postiz setup

Postiz is an open-source social media scheduler with connections to more than thirty channels: LinkedIn, X, Threads, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Bluesky, Facebook, Pinterest, Mastodon, and more. Oetzi publishes through your Postiz account instead of asking you to grant it thirty separate app permissions. About ten minutes to set up, once.

Why this way

Every platform gates its posting API behind its own developer program. TikTok requires an app audit before a post can be public. Instagram requires a business account and app review. LinkedIn caps self-serve apps at the member's own feed. Postiz has already cleared those reviews for all of them and maintains the connections as the platforms change. Your channels stay in an account you own and can revoke at any time. Oetzi only ever holds a token to publish into it.

The one thing Postiz cannot do is reply to someone else's post. Replying to matched conversations from inside Oetzi needs a direct connection to the platform, which is why LinkedIn and X show “coming soon” on that row. Bluesky is the exception: connect it directly with an app password and replies work today.

1 · Get a Postiz account

Sign up at postiz.com. Any paid plan works. Plans start at $29 a month for 5 channels and include the API access Oetzi uses. If you already schedule posts somewhere else, this replaces it.

2 · Connect your channels in Postiz

In Postiz, add every channel you want Oetzi to publish to: your LinkedIn profile or page, your X account, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, Bluesky. Postiz walks you through each platform's own login. Do this in Postiz, not in Oetzi: Postiz does not offer a way for another app to connect channels on your behalf.

3 · Connect Postiz to Oetzi

In Oetzi, open Settings, find “Connected accounts”, and click Connect on the Postiz row. Postiz shows a consent screen for the Oetzi app. Approve it. You land back in Settings with your channel list loaded. Every channel starts enabled. Untick any channel Oetzi should leave alone.

4 · Publish something

Open Posts, type a brief, pick LinkedIn (or any channel you connected), and draft. Approve the draft and click Publish. Or open the Library and use “Publish via Postiz” on a rendered video with a TikTok or Instagram channel. The post shows as posted within a minute. Its public URL appears once the channel confirms, usually a few minutes later.

5 · Optional: the URL webhook

Oetzi checks Postiz for published URLs every 15 minutes. To get them instantly, add a webhook in Postiz (Settings, Webhooks) pointing at the address below. It only fills in URLs for posts Oetzi created.

What Oetzi stores and can do

One access token for your Postiz organization, encrypted at rest, plus the list of your channels. With it Oetzi can list channels, upload media, and create posts. It cannot change your Postiz settings or connect channels. Revoke it any time under Postiz Settings, Approved Apps, or Disconnect in Oetzi Settings. Tokens do not expire on their own.

Limits worth knowing

Troubleshooting

“No connected account can publish to X”: the channel is not connected in Postiz, or it is unticked in Oetzi Settings, or the Postiz account shows expired. Reconnect and refresh the channel list. “Postiz 401”: the token was revoked in Postiz, click Connect again. A post stuck without a URL: Postiz has not confirmed it yet, check the channel in Postiz. Anything else, the failed row in Posts carries the exact error Postiz returned.
