Oetzi for SaaS founders: your first marketing hire
An AI marketer for SaaS founders. It listens where your buyers ask in public, scores intent, drafts replies and posts in your voice, and waits for your approval.
By Max Gillespie, founder of Oetzi
You shipped the product. Now you need users and you do not have a marketer yet. Oetzi is an AI marketer for SaaS founders: it listens on seven platforms for the conversations where your buyers are already asking, scores each one for buying intent, and drafts the reply and the post in your voice. You approve everything that goes out. It costs $49 a month with 100 credits included.
Where do SaaS buyers ask in public?
Not on your pricing page. They ask peers first. On Reddit the thread is "what do you use for X" in r/SaaS, r/startups, and the subreddit for whatever job your product does. On X it is a founder complaining that their current tool raised prices, with forty replies naming alternatives. On LinkedIn it is a "we just switched off this tool, here is why" post. On Hacker News it is an Ask HN thread about tooling. On Threads and Bluesky the same questions run smaller and faster. Substack Notes carries the long version from people who write newsletters about your category.
The pattern is the same everywhere. Someone is deciding, in public, and asking strangers for help. The anatomy of a what-do-you-use thread covers why those threads convert when you answer inside the hour.
What does a week with an AI marketer look like?
Monday you paste your URL. Oetzi reads the site, pulls out your segments, competitors, voice, and buying questions, and drafts one listening signal per thing you sell. You edit the one sentence that describes the conversation you want. The first seven days backfill immediately, so the inbox is not empty on day one.
Through the week the inbox fills on the cadence you set. Each match carries a 0 to 100 intent score with the reason written out and a tag for who is talking: buyer, current customer, feature request, or competitor user. You open the ones near the top. For each one Oetzi drafts two reply variants in your voice. You pick one, edit it, and post it yourself.
Twice a week you ask for a post. One drafting run gives you one to three variants of one post on one platform with the day's trend research folded in. Publishing goes through Postiz and is free. Reply checks run two and eight hours after you publish and draft an answer to each comment.
Which credits will a SaaS founder actually spend?
Reading is free. The inbox, translation, voice, edits, publishing, post metrics, the trend scan, tracked links, and the outcomes ledger cost nothing. You spend on three things.
A sweep of one signal across every platform is 2 credits and refunds when nothing qualifies. Two signals swept every weekday is about 88 credits a month before refunds. Most founders run two signals three times a week, about 48 credits, and add a third signal when a launch is coming.
A drafting run is 1 credit. Two posts a week is about 8 credits a month. Reruns and edits are free.
A share of model check asks each buying question to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI for 2 credits per question. Five questions once a month is 10 credits and tells you who the engines name instead of you.
That is roughly 66 of the 100 included credits. Top-ups are $1 a credit and never expire.
What should a SaaS founder not expect?
No cold outreach. Oetzi never messages strangers, never scrapes a list, and never sends email on your behalf. It finds the thread and drafts the words. You show up as yourself.
Nothing posts without approval. Reply drafts wait for you. Scheduled posts wait for you unless you turn autopilot on, and it is off by default.
It will not replace talking to customers. It makes sure you find them while they are still deciding. The pricing page lists what is free and what is metered.
Questions
Is Oetzi a good AI marketer for an early-stage SaaS founder?
It fits a founder who has shipped and needs the first hundred users more than a brand campaign. It listens where buyers ask, scores intent so you skip the noise, and drafts replies and posts in your voice. You keep approval on everything. Start free with 10 credits and no card, then $49 a month with 100 credits included.
Does social listening for SaaS founders cover Reddit and X?
Yes, plus LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Hacker News, and Substack Notes. You describe the conversation in one sentence. Oetzi compiles it into native searches per platform and a scoring rubric, backfills seven days, and sweeps on your cadence. Every match gets a 0 to 100 intent score and a tag for who is talking.
How is this different from hiring a marketer?
A marketer builds strategy, runs campaigns, and owns a channel. Oetzi does one job: it finds the public conversations where your buyers are deciding right now and drafts what you should say. It is the tool you run before the first marketing hire, and the one that hands that hire a full inbox on day one.
