Claude Desktop is the Claude app for Mac and Windows, and it connects to MCP servers from its own settings. Add Oetzi and the chat window becomes where you run your marketing: ask what the market said this week, read the conversations worth answering, approve a reply, and publish a post. No terminal, no code, and no paid call that runs before you see the price.

What is Claude Desktop, and what does the Oetzi server add?

Claude Desktop is the desktop client you can download from Anthropic. MCP servers are what give it hands. Without one, Claude can talk about your marketing. With the Oetzi MCP server connected, it does the work inside your workspace under the rules you follow in the portal.

That matters most for posting. A scheduler's MCP publishes whatever you hand it. Oetzi's server does the listening and the deciding first, so the post has a reason behind it.

What can you do from a Claude Desktop chat?

The honest list, in the order most founders use it:

• "What landed in the inbox overnight?" Every match carries a 0 to 100 buying intent score, the reason it matched, and a tag for who is talking: buyer, current customer, feature request, competitor user.
• "Draft a reply to the second one." Two variants come back in your voice from your voice doc, and nothing posts until you approve.
• "Are the engines naming us?" A share of model check asks your tracked buying questions across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Google AI, then reports who was named instead.
• "Write today's LinkedIn post and publish it." The draft uses the day's trend research, and publishing runs through your connected Postiz account.
• "Who engaged with that post?" The people graph pulls likes, reposts, quotes, and replies, so you can tag them and record outreach once.

How do I set it up?

Create a workspace API key in Settings, then add Oetzi as an HTTP MCP server in Claude Desktop's settings with that key as a bearer token. How do I keep the agent from spending too much?

Scopes come first. A key carries read, write, spend, or post, and a call outside those scopes is refused by the server. Give Claude Desktop a read key while you get comfortable and it summarizes the inbox and changes nothing. A key is scoped to one workspace, so run one per product.

The approval gate comes second. Every paid call returns a quote before it runs, and it executes only when it is resent with approved set to true and a max_credits cap. Work over the cap does not start. This is the same gate you click through in the portal, so an agent finds no cheaper path around it.

Can Claude Desktop publish to LinkedIn or X?

Yes, through your own Postiz account, with a key that carries post scope and a draft you approved. Postiz holds the channel connections, so Oetzi never asks for thirty separate app permissions. Publishing is free. The drafting run is one credit.

Do I need to be technical to connect it?

No. Connecting an MCP server in Claude Desktop means pasting a small configuration block with your API key into the app's settings, and the docs give you the block. Everything after that is plain English in the chat window.
