Best AI visibility tools in 2026

Max · founder, Oetzi

Most roundups in this category rank twelve tools and put the author's product first. That ranking is not useful, because these tools are not built for the same reader. A brand team with an agency and a solo founder checking whether ChatGPT has heard of their product need different software, and the price gap between them is roughly forty times.

So this list is grouped by who each tool fits. I build one of the products below and I say which one when I get to it. Every fact about another vendor comes from that vendor's own published pages, and where a vendor does not publish something, I say that rather than guess.

What an AI visibility tool actually does

They all run a version of the same loop. You give them buying questions from your category. They ask those questions to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and others on a schedule. They report how often you were named, who was named instead, and which pages the answers cited. That number has several names. Share of model is ours, and other vendors call it an AI visibility score.

The loop ends at a chart. Notice that before you buy. Almost every tool here measures and stops, which is the right product if you already have someone whose job is to act on the measurement.

Which AI visibility tools are built for brands with a budget

Profound

Profound is the enterprise option, built for large brands and the agencies serving them. Published plans start at $99 a month for a limited plan and $399 for the multi-engine plan, billed annually. It does not name its engine set individually. It publishes its own best-tools listicles aimed at agencies and B2B SaaS, and every alternatives roundup in the category makes the same note: it monitors. If you need a platform a client's marketing director already recognizes, this is the one.

Peec AI

Peec AI sits in the middle at €85 to €95 a month with unlimited seats. Its differentiator is granularity: breakdowns by engine, by country, and by language. If you sell into several markets and the real question is whether you are invisible in Germany specifically, Peec answers that better than anything cheaper on this page. Monitoring only.

Am I Cited

Am I Cited runs credit-based metering with position metrics. Starter is €50 a month, Pro is €120, then there are €500 and €1,500 tiers and a seven-day trial. Credit metering suits uneven months, where you want a heavy check before a launch and almost nothing in August. It publishes its own comparison pages against Profound and Nightwatch, which are worth reading with the usual pinch of salt.

AI visibility inside an SEO suite you already pay for

Semrush AI Toolkit

Semrush sells the AI Toolkit at $99 a month for one domain and 25 prompts, and includes it in Guru at $139.95 and Semrush One at $199. There is also a free AI Search Visibility Checker. Twenty-five prompts is a small prompt set, so treat this as a bolt-on for a team already living inside Semrush, not a reason to enter it.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Ahrefs prices Brand Radar per AI platform tracked: $199 per platform per month on top of a $129 Ahrefs base plan, or $699 a month for the bundle. Ahrefs also gives away a free AI Visibility Checker. Per-platform pricing is honest and expensive. It is the right shape if you care about exactly one engine and the wrong shape if you care about five.

The cheapest ways to track AI visibility as a founder

Otterly.ai

Otterly lists plans at $29, $189 and $489 a month, with four AI engines on the base plan. It is the cheapest widely cited monitor in the category, and its blog ranks for ChatGPT brand monitoring queries, which is how most people find it. No listening, no drafting, no posting.

Rankscale

Rankscale starts at €20 a month and adds a page audit next to the tracking, so you get the number and a view of the pages that might explain it. The vendor does not name its engine set. It appears in every budget roundup for a good reason: at that price the tracking is close to free.

LLMrefs

LLMrefs sells a single plan at $79 a month covering 500 prompts across eleven or more engines, with a seven-day trial. That is the largest prompt allowance per dollar on this page. If your category has many phrasings and you want all of them tracked instead of a sample, this beats the cheaper tools outright. Tracking only.

Promptwatch

Promptwatch has a free plan, then $95 a month. What it adds is AI crawler log analysis alongside the visibility and citation tracking, so you can watch the bots arrive as well as read the answers they produce. That pairing is rare and genuinely useful if you own the server logs.

AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ uses a free tier as its way in, then charges $295 a month. It is automation-first, with an action center and web analytics attached. Start on the free tier and decide from there, because the paid step is steep.

The free one-time check

HubSpot AI Search Grader

HubSpot's grader is free, needs no account, and checks your brand across ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. It is a one-time snapshot rather than ongoing tracking, and HubSpot folded its XFunnel acquisition into a paid AEO add-on at around $50 a month. If you have never measured this, run the grader today. It costs nothing and it tells you whether you have a problem worth paying to track.

When measuring is not the part you are missing

Oetzi, which is ours

Disclosure: this one is mine, so discount it accordingly. It is $49 a month with 100 credits included, and it asks each tracked question to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok and Google AI at two credits per question across every engine. What it adds after the chart is the part I could not buy: it lists the threads and pages the answers cited, finds live conversations in those same communities, and drafts a reply in your voice for your approval. That is a different job from measurement. If measurement is all you need, several tools above are cheaper and better at it.

How to pick in one question

Ask what happens the day after the dashboard says you are named in nine percent of answers. If an agency or a content team takes it from there, buy the best measurement you can afford and stop reading roundups. If the answer is "nothing, because there is only me", then measurement is not your constraint, and a cheap tracker plus your own writing time will beat an expensive tracker every time. Either way, run a free check first, because getting recommended by ChatGPT starts with knowing whether you already are.

Oetzi finds the live conversations that matter to your product, tracks which AI engines recommend you, and drafts posts in your voice. One plan, credits meter the work.
