Best Reddit tools for founders in 2026

Reddit is the best place on the internet to find people describing a problem you solve, and the worst place to be caught marketing. Both halves are true at once, which is why tooling matters here more than on any other platform. The wrong tool finds you threads you should never have replied to.

I build one of the products below and I say so when I get to it. Everything about the others comes from their own published pages. If a vendor does not publish something, I say that instead of filling the gap.

What happened to GummySearch

For years the default answer to "how do I research subreddits" was GummySearch. It shut down on 30 November 2025. Its own alternatives page still ranks, which is how most people now discover it is gone. If you landed on a tutorial that recommends it, the tutorial is out of date.

That shutdown is worth remembering when you choose a replacement. Reddit-only tools live on one platform's terms, and that is a real risk to weigh, not a reason to avoid them.

The free option

F5Bot

F5Bot is free, emails you when your keyword appears on Reddit, Hacker News or Lobsters, and does nothing else. No scoring, no drafting, no dashboard. For a distinctive brand name or a competitor name with low volume, this is the right tool and paying more is silly. The vendor describes itself as "AI Reddit lead generation with unlimited subreddit monitoring" and runs alternative pages against ReplyGuy, Octolens and Brand24. Best for a founder who wants the cheapest drafting help and is comfortable editing every draft before it goes out.

Pulse for Reddit

Pulse is $29 a month with a Growth plan at $99, Reddit only, with intent scoring, reply drafting and compliant posting. It runs a comparisons hub against most other Reddit tools, which is genuinely useful reading even if you buy elsewhere. Best for an agency or a founder running several accounts who wants scoring and posting in one place.

Subreddit Signals

Subreddit Signals is $29 a month with a Pro plan at $59, aimed at SaaS marketers who want to find Reddit conversations worth joining. Reddit only. Best when the job is discovery, choosing which subreddits are worth your presence at all, rather than replying at volume.

Tools that cover Reddit plus everywhere else

Devi AI

Devi AI is $19 a month plus $2 per Facebook group and monitors eleven platforms, including Facebook Groups, Nextdoor, Quora, WhatsApp and Telegram alongside Reddit. Best if Reddit is one of several places your buyers gather and Facebook Groups is another.

Oetzi, which is ours

Disclosure: I build this one. It is $49 a month with 100 credits included and treats Reddit as one of seven platforms, next to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Hacker News and Substack Notes. You describe the conversation in a sentence, every match is scored 0 to 100 for buying intent with the reason written out, and two reply drafts wait for your approval. If Reddit is the only place you care about, the Reddit-only tools above are cheaper and more focused, and I would buy one of those.

Reddit's self-promotion norms decide whether any of this works

No tool protects you from the part that actually gets founders banned. Reddit publishes its self-promotion guidance and individual subreddits layer their own rules on top, which are usually stricter. Read both before your first reply, not after your first removal.

The practical version, which every experienced Reddit marketer converges on:

• Reply where your product is a genuine answer to the question asked, and nowhere else.
• Disclose that you built the thing, in the comment, every time.
• Answer the question first. If your comment is useful with the product name removed, it is probably fine.
• Do not post the same comment in five threads. Moderators see patterns you cannot.
• Build some history in a subreddit before you mention anything you sell.

Tools that auto-post replies are the sharpest edge here. Speed is worth very little on Reddit and a removal costs you the account. Approval before posting is not a limitation, it is the feature.

How to choose

If your keyword is rare, start free with F5Bot and keep your money. If you need drafting help and only care about Reddit, the Reddit-only tools at $19 to $29 are strong and there is little reason to spend more. If Reddit is one of several platforms, buy something broader, because running four single-platform subscriptions costs more than one tool that covers them.
