Alexandria: the research behind your posts

Alexandria is Firecrawl's knowledge library: about ninety data providers and six hundred capabilities behind one API, from a research index of over a hundred million papers and a developer index of docs and READMEs to government records, finance data, podcasts, jobs and the live web. Oetzi uses it as a knowledge source: find a provider that answers a question, save it as a feed, and what it returns lands in your workspace's store with a date, where the trend scan, the Topics rules and every draft can read it.
What can Oetzi pull from Alexandria?
Two kinds of thing. A time-boxed news or web search: "social listening tools for founders, last day", run every day, kept for a month, under a cent a run. And a provider capability: podcast episodes about a subject, papers matching your buyers' pain vocabulary, a competitor's release notes from the developer index, a government dataset your category depends on. Finding the right tool is free. On the Brain Sources tab you type a question, see the providers that answer it with their options and listed price, and save one as a weekly feed.
How does it reach a post?
Items from a feed become candidates in the daily trend scan, so a paper published this week or a story in the trade press competes for the day's pick next to what the corpus is amplifying. Every drafting run carries the five closest items as a "what we know" block, dated, and the drafter is told to use a fact only where it makes the post stronger. Ask, on the Trending page, reads the store next to the conversations. And an agent can call search_alexandria, pull_alexandria and search_knowledge over MCP, REST or the CLI.
What does it cost?
Discovery and news search are free, capped at thirty feed runs a day. A provider tool whose listed price is above ten cents a call is one credit a run, refunded when nothing comes back, so a two-dollar podcast search never hides inside "free". See what Oetzi charges.
Questions
Is this the same as the daily trend scan?
The trend scan already reads the corpus and a news search each day. Alexandria adds sources the scan cannot reach on its own, research, documentation, structured data, and keeps what it finds so a draft next month can still cite it.
Do I need a Firecrawl account?
No. Oetzi runs Alexandria on its own key. Firecrawl's per-tool prices are what the one-credit rule mirrors.
